Yesterday's review:
Oh, how unlucky was that? We may have got the odd fortunate result recently such as Hoo La Baloo but we seem to stockpile plenty more 'hard luck stories' than 'good luck' ones with STIMULATION adding himself to the pile. I don't know what Steve Drowne was thinking in allowing his mount to be shuffled back through the field when he had the perfect high draw which every other jockey was seeking to obtain. Needless to say, he had to be switched down the centre of the track whilst Adam Kirby (who had tracked over from a poor draw) 'stole' a march on his rivals up the stands side rails. STIMULATION was reeling in the winner hand over fist but the winning post came 3yds too soon. There can be little doubt that the best horse finished 2nd and i'm afraid I must apportion blame to the jockey. I don't always blame jockeys when they get boxed in but Drowne had the perfect opportunity to establish his position from the outset and he got it horribly wrong. FLORISTRY was quite simply in a different league which at least secured a profit & stopped me from strangling the cat!
Basher.
