Worry about the inside

I want to share a story that my Pastor shared with us this morning. I thought it really shows how we worry about the wrong things.

On Valentine's day three men walk into a jewelry store to buy their wives a ring. Each man picks out a beautiful ring for his wife and has the store gift wrap them with pretty little bows on the outside.

The first man gets home and gives his wife the package. She squeals with happiness kisses her husband, then puts the gift wrapped package on display in the living room.

The second man gets home and gives his wife the package. She tears off the wrapping and sees the name of the jewelry store. She Squeals with happiness kisses her husband and places the ring box on display in the living room.

The last man arrives home and gives his gift to his wife. She unwraps the gift and sees the name of the jewelry store. She opens the box to see the beautiful ring inside and asks her husband to place it on her finger.

The next day the wives get together for lunch. They are so happy with their gifts that they decide to show them off. The first wife pulls out her gift wrapped box and says "Look at the beautiful gift my husband gave me last night".

The second wife says "You should have unwrapped it, look at the box that was wrapped in the paper". They now look at the third wife who has no box but is holding out her hand displaying the expensive diamond ring she had just received "Perhaps you both should have looked a little deeper. When I opened my box this beautiful ring was inside!"

The point he was making was that we get hung up on the outside trappings rather than looking for the jewels inside.

God this is such a great story you have shared with us............How true is this!........I remember something along this same story you have just shared with us all..

I was young and working at this very up scale dealership as a Sales Manager, all the other managers look at me introduced them selfs but look me up and down at what l was wearing. They where more wooried of what l had on then my ability as a Sales Manager. I heard it all the gossip, did you see the suit he was wearing where did he buy that.......and so on.

In the end l watch these other managers work deals and perform in front of clients not one could hold a candle beside me. They had no human skills, no real knowledge of how to handle certian situation with clients. I just said to myself be who you are and never worry about your ability you have it all in persepective the suit your wearing is not going to close the deal but the person in that suit will get the results.

The moral to the story is never forget who you are and how you look at things always more then one side to each coin........name tags mean nothing in the end, they only impression for a short while until they get to know the person behind that tag...................It's called self confidence...............in your ability never sell yourself short......never ever do that.............

It is a great story.
Wife #1 was only worried about appearances, Wife #2 was worried about the image. Only wife #3 took the time to see what was inside. Just like the case you shared the image and appearance were the only things of importance to them so they missed the treasure.
