Making the most of your APSense Business Center. 7. Leads Capture Form.
Amended on 21 Oct 2007

The next item at the top of our "Setting Up My Business Center" page is "Leads Capture Form"

This link takes us to the "Setup Subscription Form" page.

"Setting up"

"Special Offer".
This is the text that will be shown just above the Boxes that are for the visitor to enter their name and email address. You can edit this to read what ever you want.
Examples
"Get the latest xyz news first hand"
"Keep up to date with development in the xyz program"
and so on.

"Return Link"
This Box already has the link filed in with the variable (parameters) needed.
This is the thank you page people are sent to once they have filled in their Name and email address, to acknowledge that they have signed up.

"Message Subject"
The "Message Subject" is what will be used in the email that is sent to the visitor to let them know they have signed up successfully. You can edit this to read what you want.
Examples
"Thank you for subscribing to xyz newsletter"
"Welcome to the xyz information letter"
and so on.

"Message Content"
This is the Box that contains the body of your welcome message.

You will see when you first go there the following.

Hi, [FIRSTNAME]

Thank you for subscribing to our newsletter.
As a valued customer you will be the first to
hear about our sales, special promotions,
current events and our newest products and
services.

Please feel free to contact us at anytime
if you have any questions or comments.

Regards,

The three items in the Square brackets [ ] should not be changed.
You can if you wish remove them, or repeat them in different parts of the message. (see following example)
These are the Variables that will allow the email to be customised to the Visitor.

Example edited welcome message.

Hi, [FIRSTNAME]

As you can see above I have addressed the visitor by their Fist name a couple of times. I am letting them know I am talking to them and want to communicate with them as an individual not just another anonymous person in the crowd.

another point to note is you could use
http://[USERNAME].apsense.com
as your "APSense Business Center" link this will also work.

[FIRSTNAME] is the visitors First Name
[NAME] is your Name
[USERNAME] is your "APSense" Username.

Once you have checked everything is as you would like it click on the "Submit" Button.

"How to find who has subscribed and what to do with the information"

Anyone signing up for information from you has to give a name and email address, their IP address is also captured (registered) as proof of the origin of the person filling in the form. This is done to protect you should you be accused of spam.

These Parameters (Variables) will be registered on the "Lead Capture Page".
To get there Click on the Blue tab "Business Center".
Then on the light blue band you will see "View My Business Center Leads" click on that.

Select "Leads Capture" from the sub menu

You will then see

"Setup Subscription Form (View My Leads)"

Click on the "View My Leads"

amended
On this page it says, "View My Leads (Setup Subscription Form)"
note the "Setup Subscription Form" will take you back to the previous page.
end of amendment

You will see Name, Email, IP, Date
If anyone has signed up their information will be listed below that.

Now if you want to put these into an auto responder you need to export the information.

To do this you need to click on the blue "Export Leads" that is at the bottom of the list on the right.

A new window will open in which you will see the information and you will be able to save it so that you can then use it to import into The auto responder of your choice.

"Note"
Keep a good record of all the information just in case someone forgets they signed up and decides to make a spam report.

Hi Margie,

Keeping you busy will keep you out of trouble lol.

I hope that the series will help a lot of members
I am now producing the last part which will give some easy to follow help to get pages looking decent, and not messing up when changes are made.

A small amendment (marked with red comment) has been made due to the slight change in the layout of the leads capture section.

My thanks to Jamesp377 for reminding me about this.
