Ok... now this is just a short post from a forum over at
another communtiy that is looking for scary or unusual
Friday the 13th comments!

So, I thought I'd let everyone here take a look and tell me
how corny it is! and maybe encourage you to write your own.

I've heard that writing humor is the most difficult form of
writing anyone could attempt!

Friday the 13th

Here is a true story!

Like many baby boomers.... I was raised with no superstitious beliefs.
Science was taught in the public school systems then!
1950s and 1960s !!

I went off to college (only to drop out later) in 1970 and
was a freshman resident in the brand new co-ed dormitory.

The architects, not being superstitious, numbered
the 13th floor (the top floor!) the Thirteenth Floor!

There was of course elevators for getting to the top and
ground level on this modern building!

I resided on the 13th floor!

I was taking the elevator downstairs with a group of
friends when the elevator got stuck!

It was FRIDAY the 13th !!

There were 13 coeds on the elevator all of us were in our
13th year of schooling!

All of us were residents of the THIRTEENTH Floor !!

It was 13 minutes before anyone figured out why the
elevator wasn't working and called for help!

(i just made that last one up trying to come up with a
cute ending!)

This is true:: one of the girls 'freaked' and started
screaming after we realized all the thirteens involved
and someone had to slap her!

Happy Friday the 13th tomorrow!

That one had me laughing so much my wife asked what was so funny.
I handle Friday the 13th a little differently than most. I go out and buy 13 lotto tickets. :)

As my birthday falls on Jan 13th, on select years (like my sweet 16) my birthday would fall on Friday the 13th. I decided long ago that 13 was my lucky number.

You bring up a good point in our global market place. Superstitions are different in different countries.

Like did you know that in Japan you never write a persons name in RED this means the person is dead. When we lived in Okinawa, Japan they would not let you use red ink to sign your checks.

Now think how many web pages that we bold out names in red.

Any other superstitions you care to add?

STOP IT, BETH! You're scaring me!

Superstitions are derived from co-incidences for which we have no scientific knowledge.

But there is an explanations for such co-incidences

The synchronicity of numbers in time, place and numbers create unusual events that are hard to ignore..

These events may be lucky or unlucky for some people.

Enjoy the 13th, it maybe lucky for you!

I have a file with some really unusual co-incidences about American Presidents - I should look it

Growing up, I just loved Friday the 13th and scary stuff, but not much now.

Thanks so much for sharing this funny information with us on ApSense.

Hi everyone ~ after posting this ~ later on Friday I got to go and spend the weekend with some of those grandkids of mine while their folks got reacquainted! or something! lol !! My grandaughter whose 8 said that as soon as she is old enough she's going to take all the younger kids and move out so her mom and dad can have all the private time they need!

I survived the 13th! Glad to hear from so many of you that enjoyed the specialness of the day as well!
