Being happy is to learn to choose. It is the way for us to choose not only the appropriate pleasures, but also our way, our job, our manner of living and loving.

Being happy is also our capability to choose leisuere activities, friends, values on which we base our lives.

Living well is to learn to say no sometimes, to not respond to all requests, and to make priorities within our activities.

As it has been said, you must learn the art of saying no : "don't lie, don't make excuses and don’t over-explain yourself. Just simply decline."

The exercise of reason allows a coherence in our lives according to the values or goals we are pursuing. We choose to meet such a pleasure or waive such other because we give meaning to our lives - and that, in both senses of the term: we give it both a direction and a meaning.
