Remain Committed To Your Goals!

Have you ever been in a situation where you are wrestling with whether to give up on something? You know that you should not give up on your goals, however you feel like after time you’ve been trying with no success. When does the thought of giving up become more than just a negative thought and more of a reality check? Is giving up on something that you are doing necessarily a bad thing? I mean there are certain things that we may not be good at and everything is not for everyone so when do you draw the line? How long should you work at something before you realize that this may not be for you and is not going to work out? I was struggling with this a for a few weeks, trying to decipher whether or not what  I was  feeling was reasoning or if it were just negativity speaking in. It wasn’t until today that the light bulb moment went off! The thoughts that I’ve been having were simply because I have been going about trying to achieve my goals without a roadmap to success! I was not being consistent. Consistency is key if you want to have success in not just your business but to achieve any of the goals that you have set.  Being consistent allows you to stick to a plan and take action step by step vs. moving around from place to place.

Remain committed to your goal. Jeff Olson quoted “Commitment is doing the thing that you said you would do, long after the feeling that you set it in has left you!” This simply means that often times we are excited and we set goals and are really eager to get started on that goal. We lay out a plan and we start working on that plan. As the weeks pass, the excitement is not there like it was that very first day. The excitement dies down either because we feel like we are not achieving the level of success that we had hoped for or stumbling blocks trip us up along the way. These obstacles may place us in a state of complacency and we start to feel things like “I don’t feel like writing this blog today, or I don’t feel like doing a video today”. Now if you decide not to write a blog today, that may not affect your goals, however if you continue with that mindset your goals will suffer! So remain committed even when you don’t feel like doing the necessary tasks that you set out! Also be consistent in what you are doing. Lack of consistency is why people fail. If you remain committed and consistent one day your hard work will pay off!
