How I am able to juggle motherhood and business
Juggling motherhood and business can be difficult, but there is a useful trick that can help your career and homelife to co-exist. Today, we'll focus on work-at-home moms, since they face some of the biggest challenges since work and family literally co-exist within the same physical space.
Wondering how to be a mother an a business owner? Firstly, keep the two worlds separate as much as possible. Focus on one or the other. Don't try to do both at once! This may mean a harsh reality check, scheduling time very carefully and hiring a babysitter. But it's key. If you try to juggle motherhood and business simultaneously, you'll fail!
When you're being a mother, be a mother. When you're being a business owner, focus on being a business owner. And do your best to avoid "bringing work home" and vice versa. For work-at-home moms, this means dividing your time and scheduling work time and family time very carefully. And it requires discipline. You must learn to shut off business mode and go into mommy mode. Many moms find it easier to keep a very specific work area -- an office -- where the children are not permitted. This can make it much easier to maintain that separation.
When you learn to keep your mommy world and your business world separate, you'll find juggling motherhood and business becomes much easier! This looks different for every woman. It may mean finding a job that allows you to have a flexible schedule or working at night or during naptime, or hiring a babysitter. Whatever the case, don't give up hope! It may take some trial and error, some harsh reality checks and creative scheduling, but it is possible to be both a mother and business owner.
