New Video Toy
I wrote an article a while back about producing videos for YouTube without having a camera by using Open Office Impress and HyperCam2 for free. Then later I saw a post Wincer made in the timeline about Prezi.com and started poking around there, which led me to make another video with no camera that's different. Not better, but just different, which I liked.
So first I wrote out a script and printed it. Then I recorded it with a free program called Audacity (Google it) so I could edit the sound track and enhance it to sound better. When I had it just like I wanted, it was time for the next step.
I went to Prezi.com and created a presentation to go with the soundtrack I just made. Then I took a red pencil and marked on the script where I wanted each slide change. Then I ran the presentation and recorded it with no sound as I listened to the soundtrack I recorded earlier and followed along on the script to know when to change to the next slide.
All that was left was to combine the recorded slide show and the soundtrack to produce the finished video. I used Camtasia to do this, but if you need free software you could use HyperCam2 to record it and Windows Movie Maker to combine them.
If you visit my profile and take the Page Tour, you can see the finished product.
The bottom line is, there are lots of tools out there if you just play around and learn to use them. It can make a huge difference to your online image.
