How do your Splash Pages Look?

TE’s are evolving and changing fast. Many TE’s now have a bar on top and on the bottom + a chat bar on the right side.

These changes may effect on how your splashes look. Possibly people will need to scroll to see the complete picture. Which they won’t because most people surfing are focused on earning credits.

Splash graphics should not be larger than 500/600 x 400 to be showing in full in all TE’s.

The most ideal thing is to create you own splash pages in combination with a sign up opt in form or button attached to an auto responder of your own; this way you will also build YOUR list.

If you have the software and some skill you can do that on your own PC. Personally I use Macromedia Fireworks and Animation shop. But there are also free online image and photo editors. Please note there is the “90 days rule”; people kind of turn blind for a splash page after 90 days. That is why it is important to change both splashes and banners regularly.

Note: above is especially is important for TE’s, member sites and owners of any affiliate program that offer promotion materials. I found a partner with a program that gives complete control over what splash pages are shown to a complete membership. More news about this soon.

The most easy way is to use online services to create a splash or squeeze pages. On some of them you can only use preloaded templates, others allow you to import your own images. Most of these services can be used for free but offer upgrades which have much more features and possibilities. I will list some at the bottom of this article.

So in short:

  • How does your splash look
  • How long is it in rotation
  • Does it have an opt in form or button?

RapidMarketer Email marketing: create opt-in forms and new letters and email campaigns with ease. You can choose from many templates or create your own. I use this service myself because it is very easy to use. I love the features spam check (to eliminate spam words so that delivery rate is as high as possible), to send a test to yourself and to view how my email looks in different browsers. Note: many splash page providers have the possibility to paste you auto responder code in the splash page.

Opt-in button: Great service to use in traffic exchanges! Participating exchanges automatically show a tiny opt-in button in the surf bar if your splash shows. When setting it up you can put in your own autoresponder code. Highly recommended. Click here to view the participating TE’s. SBT will be joining it as soon as we have the minimum members to have it installed.

Splash Pages

InstantSplash: create stunning splash pages and squeeze pages. It is not free but they offer a free trial. In my opinion this is the best service; you are in complete control and not limited to pre designed templates. You can see an example here. Note: it is possible to ad an opt-in form as well. I did not because I still have to write the email for this auto responder.

Adkreator: has hundreds of professional designed templates in several different categories. Banners, Website buttons, Peelaway ads, Splashpages, Login bonus and Squeezepages!

I also design banners and splash graphics myself. Currently just graphics; I do not install/implement those in scripts. Hope to find a partner for that soon.

A similar service is InstantBannerCreator; the name is misleading since you can create much more than just banners.
