Using Marketing Sites Correctly
This blog is about someting near and dear to my heart because I've experienced it on a personal basis. Its about how to
conduct yourself in a Group forum or marketing site. You would think it was a simple thing knowing how to conduct yourself in
a marketing site but you'd be surprised. Below are a few suggestions and tips from personal experience, take what you need.
. Registration: One of the worst newbie mistakes made in marketing sites I see is not being serious when filling out your
profile and other pertinent information. When I go to someone's page the first thing I look at is if their profile is
complete, if its not I simply move on because how serious can you really be if your profile isn't set up or updated?
. Spam: Spam kills newbies immediately, experienced online marketers normally give newbies a pass, so do admins. and site
owners, but when we see you constantly spamming the living daylights out of people and my favorite pet peeve, spamming my
comment box then we have to say that this person isn't even trying to learn or read the sites TOS and we just shake our heads
and tell ourselves, they'll learn.
. Balance: You must learn to create a balance in your marketing group, who are you helping? Are you blogging or
spamvertising? Are you creating or joining any groups? Are you blogging any useful information or are you just there to hard
sell? Do you know the difference between marketing and advertising? Maybe you were just taught wrong and if that's the case
please take the time to learn from experienced people or you will be completely ignored and or blocked.
. Welcome: If you're in a marketing site and you want to welcome a new person then do just that, welcome them. If they're
interested in you or what you have to offer they'll go and check out your profile, if its complete that is. Never ever call
yourself welcoming someone and insult their private comment box with a huge banner or links or text a mile long, its the
height of bad taste and extremely annoying in my book and I block these people immediately. I love marketing sites where
people welcome me with a barrage of spam because I waste no time clicking on their pic so I can block them.
. Activity: To remain relevant in this game you have to be consistent and active, not just with any old thing either, make
sure you step up your game and produce quality minty fresh work and if you're going to borrow an article or blog for God's
sake make sure you give that person their due and place their name in the beginning or ending of the post because we bust our
butts writing and there's nothing worse than seeing your hard work pop up online with no credit. If you do that to me I will
get with you, trust me on that.
In closing, just try to use some common sense, don't be broke and stupid because there is a cure for brokeness, but stupid is
terminal. If you need my help feel free to contact me here or at my blog and I'll go out of my way to help you or at least
point you in the right direction, I promise not to insult your intelligence by trying to sell you on anything but at the same
token if you're interested in what I'm doing by all means ask me. If you contact me only to try to sell me I can pretty much
guarantee you by the end of the conversation one of us will be left with their feelings hurt, can you guess who?
