Update Jan 19: I now have 5 sites linking in

Hi everyone,

More than a year ago, I bought the domain name :

AWLB, for short. :)

By the way, some people believe it's better to have no hyphen in the domain name. I'm not sure. I find it's more readable when it's as long as mine. There are different opinions on the matter, but it's not the subject of the article. I would like to hear your views about it in the comments, though.

The important thing to remember is,  the search engines don't care if there are hyphens.

I had been using my domain as subdirectories for some my blogs :

My AWLB blog was in a directory simply called "blog".

I had done that because I wasn't decided what kind of site I wanted.

My friend Gilberto Cintron, a member here, he is knowledgeable on all things SEO and back links ( join his group the Back Link Club ).

Gilberto told me, 2 months ago, that I should use the root directory of my site, to get on search engines.

I finally took the time to follow his advice last week.

I abandoned my "blog" directory. I had not posted much there anyway. I was too busy trying to get attention to my IMH blog.

Before I made the move, I checked the Alexa ranking of my AWLB domain. It was around 1,900,000.

Look where it is now :

I passed in front of more than 400,000 sites within a week !

WordPress.com, here I come ! :D

Kidding, of course.

The competition will get tougher and tougher as I get a better ranking.

By the way, I didn't stop at just putting my blog at the root of my domain.

I post every day on it. A mix of info found there only, plus articles begun here and complete there, and vice versa.

Last week I created a page on my IMH blog to give links to articles I wrote on the Internet.

I just had an idea as I write this. I will do the same for my AWLB blog.

I will be careful, though. I won't copy the page from IMH to AWLB. Else, I believe I would get a Google Slap for having duplicate content on my domain. Well, maybe not, but just in case, I will play it safe. I will put relevant links on both pages.

I also put the link to Gilberto's profile. It took 20 seconds to do so. If it helps to get him more attention, why not ? He deserves it. He's one of the experts we have at APSense on Internet Marketing. He has years of experience. He also works closely with Wincer. That should give you a hint that Gilberto is someone you should know better.
