Read status, add comment, build relationships

I will make you all believers in APSense. :D

First, listen to this song by Sass Jordan :

That song always puts a big wide smile on my face. :D

Ok, let me explain what the title of the article is about.

It's not about putting a link in your status. The day I do that is the day I sell my soul to spam farms, i.e. sites that enjoy seeing members throwing links at each other 2 seconds after accepting contact requests. There is such a site, it used to be very popular. Apsense got better alexa rankings than that site recently. Many Internet marketers are discovering there are better ways to build relationships.

Ok, little message out of the way. :)

Now to the real point of the article.

A few days ago, Deborah Marslender wrote in her status that she was back from the hospital, she was now in recovery.

Seeing that in my network feed, I clicked on "add comment" and wrote to her, saying I wished her recovery went well.

The next day, she sent me a PM. I had her permission to quote her :

"Hello Philippe;

THANK YOU very much for your well wishes; it really lifted my spirits.
I go day by day; and "some days are diamonds; some days are stone".

How are you? And what great plans does your new year hold?

have a great day; Deborah"

There you go. The start of a new, very nice relationship with Deborah.

Stop using the status to sell your stuff. Use it to let us know what you are doing. Write colorful stuff. Here are some examples :
  • I sold another YAY !!!
  • Snowing here :(
  • Happy New Year
  • I saved a puppy last night
  • Think things through
etc...

These are all real examples, by the way.

When I see nice status like these, I add a comment. Not everybody responds, and that's ok. I mean, we are all busy, we each have our ways of using APSense.

More and more, I see people adding comments. It adds a level of interaction we hadn,t seen at APSense. When you see a comment, you can add your own.

I encourage you to write interesting or funny bits in your status, and to add comments.
