China Eggs

I learned about the expression China eggs about a year ago. It was my friend Chuck Bartok who told me about it.

I took it that "let's not walk on China eggs" meant to not be afraid to mention we are selling something. Not all the time, it's good to simply build relationships, and if a friend asks to know more about something we promote, we go for it. But it's not evil to put links in some cases. Let me give you an example.

Some people will write articles and, among other things, they mention great books Most of the time, these books are sold at Amazon.

I suggest that when we do that, we put our affiliate Amazon link for the book.

Is this greedy ?

I'm sure some will say it is.

My response to them is, APSense is not FaceBook. We are not a social club. We are Internet Marketers.

Here is the beginning of the definition of marketing we can find at wipidedia :

"Marketing is the process of performing market research, selling products and/or services to customers and promoting them via advertising to further enhance sales. It generates the strategy that underlies sales techniques, business communication, and business developments. It is an integrated process through which companies build strong customer relationships and create value for their customers and for themselves."

Let's not be afraid to sell. Let's stop thinking we walk on China Eggs. I love those 2 words. It was my good friend Chuck Bartok who used the expression with me. Thanks, Chuck !

Let's not overdo it, of course. There is a line that must be drawn between being a business person and a used cars salesman. :)

I mean, if you talk about "Think and Grow Rich" in your article, put YOUR amazon link. I just did here. :)

It took 2 minutes of my time to get it. Will I sell any copy ? I have no idea. The article is not about that book.

Am I a bad boy to have put that link ?

I guess I won't get 100 % agreement on this. Hey, I can live with that.
