Life's all about Selling
Lets face it - life is all about selling. When we go shopping we buy from a 'seller', when we Real Estate Hunting or simply buying a house - we are selling our thoughts and ideas in order to purchase what we desire. Even children use the power of 'selling' to obtain that , candy, that treat, from parents or friends.
One aspect though, which people agree upon, is that the everyday person just don't like to 'know that they've been sold to'. It gives a feeling of 'giving into' the seller. A feeling of being conned and robbed in choice - even if the decision to buy was a good one. When people have the emotional feeling that their purchase was totally of their choice and due dilligence - then they are happy with their buying decisions. It's all emotional. A happy customer needs to have felt that they were in control of the purchase decision - with no outside influence.
The Happy Customer ...
No where more important for the 'happy customer' aspect to occur, is the home based business arena. Building a business network and team is in reality not that hard or difficult. All that is needed is to drive customers (traffic) to your website and follow a series of steps enabling the customers to learn more about the opportunity. However, the hard part is building a WORKING Team.
Mike Dillard commented that most people followed the wrong route of cold calling possible team members/customers. They would try and sell their business to the potential customer/client. This is traditional marketing - cold calling, screaming about your business opportunity to all of your friends and family etc. You may get a few sales using this method BUT wait! You will find that many of these new Team Members or clients become dissapointed in themselves for having been 'SOLD' to. They will start to feel that maybe the have been duped. They may even adopt the attitude of being scammed when they do not attain immediate success.
But if we changed this situation and the client or customer had been properly introduced to the business - hearing the right questions - no pressure. If the seller of the home based business opportunity did not call the client, but instead received the clients call and positioned them selves as an authority - then when the buyer would buy - they would be a happy and positive member of the business networking team.
Its all about Your Position ...
There are a lot of aspects to positioning ones self. But I guess in simple terms its this. You must be professional at all times and this position of professionalism must come across over the phone. Your client must realise that you are in control and that if they decide not to purchase from you - you will be ok with that.
When a client visits wallmart/kmart or any other store, if they do not buy - then fine. Guess what, the client may come back numerous times before making a purchase. Who is in control? The purchaser is in control of their decisions, however the Company is in a position of power. They have the goods, the information and must use their marketing in order to INFORM the customer that it's in the customers best interest to purchase from their store.
