Consider yourself working on QuickBooks when you suddenly encounter the annoying error alert "QuickBooks has stopped working" or "QuickBooks is not opening." This problem arises due to one of the following reasons: Windows operating system files are damaged or corrupted. The system does not contain QBWUSER.INI files or is damaged. Windows does not have QuickBooks installed properly. More characters than allowed are present in the name of the QuickBooks company file. The program file is corrupted. The hard drive is damaged.
