Electronic equipment used in situations where on-demand performance, without any risk of downtime or equipment failure, is mandatory, generally has to meet the IPC 610 Class 3 standard. This standard, for High Performance/Harsh Environment electronic assemblies, regulates component specifications such as plating thickness and laminate selection as well as facilities arrangements, manufacturing processes, inspection criteria and so on.
