Cooling method for seamless steel pipe

Cooling method plays an important role during the production process of seamless steel pipe. As some defects may happen during the cooling process if we don’t take the rightful plans for it. So we should have a clear understanding for the cooling methods before the production of steel pipe. There are three main categories for cooling method: 1.Air cooling: according to the literal meaning, we can know the method easily. It is a kind of natural cooling method as we just need to put the steel pipe into the air. To some extent, it is a widely used way to cool steel pipe after hot rolling. 2.Fast cooling: this is the cooling method with the process of blowing, spraying and water. We can use fast cooling if we are in need of fast done for the product. Depend on the cold water, we can lower the temperature quickly than air cooling method. 3.Slow cooling: this kind of cooling method is characterized by hot-rolled steel sheets or stacked together so that it cools slowly to prevent white point defects. According to the production conditions, and special slow cooling pit, we take this method for steel pipe’s cooling.
