Welded steel pipe, like common ERW steel pipe, cannot ignore the trouble about cutting. And this is an essential step for the whole tube’s production process. For manufacturers, they have to pay attention to that as a poor cut can lead to poor fit-up steel pipe. What effects are when there is poor cut. In general, a poor cut can lead to poor fit-up and create unnecessary gaps. More over, for some special steel tube, like stainless steel pipe with corrosion-resistant pipe, this would lead to distortion which may affect the corrosion-resistant quality. Of course, poor preparation also leads to longer weld cycle times, higher consumable costs and potential repairs. Thus, it would have influence for a pipe’s quality. How to solve this trouble for welders? A necessary cutting equipment would be the first step. For example, buying dedicated orbital pipe cutting equipment to guarantee cuts within mere thousandths of an inch of the specified parameters maybe one of the steps. Of course, the skilled experience for welder is also important.
