I really didn't expect all these responses, but I welcome all of them and I digested what tasted good and spit out the rest. I like a healthy debate; this has been a vary good discussion and I am steady learning. Thanks to everyone that participated. @ Gerald I do pull on Philippe's coat tale behind close doors as well as Paula's but sometimes I gave Philippe a break.LOL!

Every member of APSense considers himself a marketer, nobody dares calling him or herself a sales person, but the bottom line is, we are both trying to brand ourselves and sell products/services.

Rona lets set the record straight Marketing is not about selling it's about establishing a brand/presence for a person, company, website or range of products (**rumrunner and phil take note) regarding how long before you get paid the time varies however there are no fast tracks despite what some people here will tell you, forced matrixes bux sites etc are high risk of being a scam, what ever you do in order to earn income you will need to work for every dollar you make and it takes time to build

Social networks can get you sales and sign ups as well when you use social marketing in stead of social advertising. The difference is that social marketing is not promoting your business directly but getting sign ups and sales indirectly. It is soft selling as opposed to social advertising where you promote a service or product directly in a more agressive way. In social marketing you write articles related to your field of expertise. If you keep doing this people will see you as an expert in

Well Thank you Philippe for proving me correct, ;-) Personally I find that you should keep trying at your business as long as it is fun and that you see ways of getting better at what you are trying to do to be successful in your line of business. And I do not believe that the chance is of finding business partners on sites like Apsense. People who are here already have a business that they want to promote. So like Paula and Philippe are saying, you come here to make good contacts, learn all tha

Gerald, thanks for the vote of confidence. It makes me realize I haven't tried to answer Rona's question. Well, there's no easy answer. Business social networks are for building business relationships, in my humble opinion. Some are trying to offer options like pay commissions to get paid downlines, the problem is, you get a lot of spam on those. Others simply offer advantages like APSense does. Some say they are free but then you discover you have to pay to advertise on the site. There are all

Rumruner41, I agree with you, the word "marketing" implies selling, take nonprofit organizations, they will hire public relations people and won't call them marketers, let's not walk on China eggs here

Thanks for all positive responses to this discussion. @Paul, skype is challenging for me but I am willing to learn, just like I am learning with apsense so I will work on familiarizing myself with skype.

Paula Van Dan, the response you just gave is a can answer. Bottom line is in Network Marketing you sell physical Products, I'm not going to sit here an argue with you about this; you are trying to make yourself look good, an everyone else look stupid. I'm here to answer Rona's question, and who are you anyway to tell me I'm wrong!

Rumrunner network marketing is NOT selling products or services, That is network advertising. Network marketing is building an online presence, building connections and profile yourself as an expert in a certain niche by posting quality content and comments. This will result in people to know and to trust you. They will click your profile picture or signature. To become an expert in your niche you need to be able to answer questions about it. That is why I never recommend a service I did not try

In my experience with Network Marketing, it's a very hard business model to work.

Network Marketing is selling physical products.

I'm not saying it can't be done, because it happens all the time.

The best thing to do is hang around Network Marketing Forums, ask questions, talk to your upline to find out what they are doing to be successful.

This is your business, you have to make it do what it do, if you know what I mean.

After you hit up friends and family to buy your products,

Agree to Paula, you need to select your niches, then share valuable info with others, building your leads list. You can promote products related to it.

I would say 2-3 years to earn a substantial income. And you are a member of APSense since december 2010. Social networks can help your business but it does not happen overnight. You need a plan, various skills and partners and friends that have skills you do not posses yourself. Social networks are a way to find those skills, friends and partners. By reading a lot from experienced marketers and to try to practise what they teach. You'd be surprised how many offer help if you contribute and share

First of all you have to clear your mind of the results you're not getting, and focus on the things that you're doing and ought to do, to get the results you desire. Is your upline helping out? Is the company the right one for you? If yes, what makes it so? What strategies are you using to recruit people and also build your team? When all these areas are covered, you will know when the residual income will start flowing in.
