Search Engine Submission Services

Hi, a couple of questions that I would like a little discussion about. Firstly 'do you use Search Engine Submission?' If you have a website, are you ensuring that Search Engines are aware of the existence of your website. Secondly, if you are using a Search Engine Submission Service, who are you using.  Recommendations would be good. In the past I have used several services but so far I have not come across one that stands head and shoulders above the others.  If you have an opinion on this I would love to get some comments.

I NEVER use a search enginge submission. EVER.

Just build links to your site and they will find it with time.

If you do use one - use it for the littler search engines - not the big 4.. If you submit your site ot google/yahoo/msn etc your asking for it to take LONGER to get in the index than if you just build links to your site.

Hi CJ,
I tried the SE Submitter route when I first started and found out the hard way that it is much better if you let them find you. This is easy to do, but it takes time. If you are in business, then you know it takes time to grow a business. It seems that using the submitters can actually have a negative effect on your listing 'sometimes'.

PS
I've topped this because I would also be interested in hearing what others are doing and with what success.

Web Design & Marketing Services for Small Business

Hi Cj
I joined a search submissions service a couple of weeks ago. It was recommended to me by someone who had recieved a number of sign ups since using it.
I have since been advised that I should not use a paid service because I can get the same results without paying for it.
Once I get the hang of SEO then I may well give up this paid service. What i will say is this.
When I joined I searched for my site on google, nothing, zilch. - couldn't even be found!
After reading your post, I sear
