Everyone will probably agree that no traffic equals no sales. But not all traffic guarantees sales. They may see your headline in an email list and never open it. Much like the campaigns here; members click for points, but never read the content. May I suggest this?

Targeted Traffic That Converts Is Sales, but Not Necessarily Success Unless the Number of Sales Exceeds the Cost of Getting the Traffic. Profits is Success

Traffic plays an important role in campaign success. If we get more traffic from targeting audience then it can definitely help us to gain more leads.

So, what’s better for you?
To have 100 visitors with 20% conversion rate, or have a 1000 visitors with 1% conversion rate?

Simple math says that the first one will bring in 20 paying customers, and the other one 10. Of course, this doesn’t discredit the importance of high traffic at all, it just underlines the importance of convincing these people to do what you need them to do, be it click on the ad or to buy your product.

Another important thing to have in mind is your audience retention. If you build loyalty to your brand and have a lot of satisfied customers that can have a better impact on your revenue in the long run, than trying to swindle your audience with some misleading ads or cheap marketing tricks.

Satisfied customers become returning visitors and customers, and they might even become the promoters of your brand if they are really satisfied. Whether they are people

that are simply satisfied with your products or content and recommend you to their friends, or full-on fans, they are worth their weight in gold.

In order to build a successful site, you have to take all of these into account, along with how much you earn per customer (or per click, in the case of the ads) ...

The more people that see your offer, the more chances you have to make a sale. It's that simple...

Maybe.... but I more agree with Dr Yates. You can drive a ton of traffic to an offer that just plain stinks, and more traffic does not equal more chances, much less ROI!
If you have great copywriting, a great and useful product, and in a lot of cases a
great relationship with your audience which is hopefully targeted, your chances likely increase tenfold. I would rather have a little quality traffic, than tons of traffic that
doesn't covert, and doesn't improve my ROI! I have a whloe lot of 'tire kicking traffic' across 30 plus websites, and I almost have them memorized and know who I should waste my time on. I know my buyers, and my freebie seekers:-)
