Review on White Marbles

White Marble is a metamorphic rock composed of calcite or dolomite which are carbonate minerals. It is commonly used for flooring, kitchen countertops, vanity tops. It is also used in sculpture. This marble is capable of taking polish.

Origin
Marble is formed as a resultant of metamorphism of sedimentary carbonate rocks. Carbonate rocks are mostly limestone and dolomite rock. The Metamorphism process recrystallises the original carbonate mineral grains. The resultant marble rock is composed of interlocking mosaic of carbonate crystals. Primary Sedimentary textures are completely changed than.
White Marble is found in the Aravali Ranges. The exact location is in Udaipur , Rajnagar, Makrana, Kishangarh, Salumber, Darauli, Amet, Jaipur. The deposits are spread over all the nearby villages. The extraction is done after the permission of government. There are almost 250-400 quarries in the area.

Extraction
Extraction is totally done in a mechanised way with chain saws, wire saws etc. The production in 2012 was around 160000 metric ton. The extracted blocks are very big in size so big slabs are available without any problem.
