Tumblr is a platform for microblogging created in 2007 and allows the user to post text, images, video, links and sounds on his tumblelog . It relies mainly on the Catawiki . Its slogan is: "Come to see what you like. Stay for what you discover. "?
Tumblr was created in 2007 by American entrepreneur David Karp 2 , 3 . The platform has experienced a rapid increase in the number of users. In January 2008, Tumblr had about 170,000 users 4 . At the beginning of August 2010, about 6.6 million people were using it, according to Mark Coatney, a Tumblr 5 employee .

In early February 2011, a Tumblr French interface was launched for French-speaking Internet users 1 .

According to The Next Web , the number of accounts has doubled in one year and in 2013 counted more than 100 million blogs with more than 44.6 billion tickets posted since its creation in 2007 6 .

In April 2013, Tumblr ended its Storyboard service less than a year after its launch. Storyboard was a hub of exchange controlled by experienced journalists to promote articles written by authors from the creative sphere of the site. Founder David Karp , had strongly supported this service 7 .

In May 2013, Yahoo! has bought Tumblr for 1.1 billion US dollars 8 , 9 . After the purchase of Yahoo! and the union with Aol , by Verizon , Oath becomes the mother house of Tumblr in June 2017 10 .

In December 2018, Tumblr announced that from the 17th of the month, all pornographic content would be banned from the platform, with the exception of textual, artistic content that does not represent sexual activity, militant nudity, breastfeeding and birth. Images and videos showing a woman's bare chest, no matter the context, are also forbidden, which is not the case for a man's torso 11 , 12 . This surprising decision was strongly criticized by many users who used the platform to watch porn "trash", "safe" or simply nude artistic . The app, which was banned from the App Store 13 , 14,That's not all !
