Excellence is the way to go when building a long term, solid, sustainable business.

In this article, I mention twenty-five requirements for excellence. If you dont use all of them currently, dont worry about it.

Excellence takes time. It will pay off in a big way.

The requirements are in no particular order.

1) Patience: you dont have to finish writing that blog post in one sitting. Hurrying has nothing to do with excellence. I had to repeat that to myself while writing this one.

2) Planning: Sit down and write your objectives as well as the actions required to manage your time, money and resources wisely. Review your plans regularly, at least once a week, and dont hesitate to toss out ideas that seemed interesting but dont fit anymore in your goals.

3) Persistence: they say people have to see a message up to seven times before it catches their attention. Persistence goes hand in hand with patience.

4) Common sense: if your promises defy common sense, chances are you will hurt your business.

5) The trust factor: trust cant be acquired in a flash. You need to be careful about what you do and recommend.

6) Awesome customer support: take the time to make sure the person has successfully accomplished what you taught. If you dont have the answer, send the person to someone who knows.

7) Inspire others: this cant be controlled. What you need is to check which things you do that attract attention, and keep doing it. Learn from people who inspire you.

8) Be authentic: in your blog posts, say something about yourself, dont just write an ad. If someone notices a mistake you made, dont hesitate to acknowledge it, then move on.
