Solar energy is the cause of life on this planet. Also called as Green Energy, solar power is free but only it has to be tapped at a cost. While vegetation absorbs only about 1.5% of the total incident solar rays, the rest gets dissipated as a waste. Solar Panels (more often referred to as modules) have a longevity of 25 to 30 years of power generation capacity without any significant degradation. Silicon in the form of cells formed into semiconductor junction are used as transducers for conversion of sunlight into electricity.
