Put Your Testimonials On Your Blog

by Philippe Moisan Tutorial videos, sci-fi writer
In my opinion, writing testimonials is one of the most awesome features at APSense. You can use them in many places.
Recommended Features
  • Testimonials are great for recognition and building relationships
  • They appear on your APSense Business Center
  • Members see them when you create a group
  • Take the time to write something specific
  • Add them on your blog, on your splash and squeeze pages

Review on Put Your Testimonials On Your Blog

APSense really is a business social network made to appeal to serious Internet marketers. There are tons of features and services to interact with other members, to showcase your opportunities, and to build strong relationships.

For that last point, there is a feature that I myself take very seriously. It is the testimonial.

Back when I became active at APSense, on October 2010, there were people writing testimonials that were spam. What I mean is, the testimonial had nothing specific about the member. All it had was a information about an opportunity offered by the person writing a testimonial. In some cases, there were skype IDs too. In one case, I saw a member write the same testimonal to many members. He was doing it one after the other. All he was writing was "great profile, I look forward to doing business with you". It was not those exact words, but you get the idea. I asked him why he didn't write something specific, he responded he didn't have time to check the profile.

When I look at a member's profile and see a spam testimonial, I send a PM to the person saying what I think, that it doesn't look serious to have accepted such a testimonial. One member told me that she didn't care. Most others told me that hadn't realized that, and they deleted it.

In my opinion, it's better to have genuine testimonials, it reflects the kind of person you are.

Testimonials are great for recognition when you receive one or more. They are also wonderful to develop a relationship when you write one to another member. As long as it comes from the heart, of course.

Where do testimonials appear?

* When a member comes to see your profile

* On your APSense Business Center, there's a specific page for it

* When you create a group, you can choose to have one or all your testimonials appear

Now, if you have a website, or a blog, you can add your testimonials to it. How?

I will give you the steps I use to add them to a page on my WordPress blog. The tools I use are:

* For taking screenshots, the Screen Hunter free software you can download

* For uploading the image files I create, I use the Legacy File Manager in cPanel, it's very easy

* For creating the image, I use Paint

* In the WordPress blog, I add a page specifically for that

Here are the steps:

1- On your APSense HomePage, click on "View Business Center" under your picture

2- Choose the Testimonials page

3- Open Screen Hunter, choose the "rectangular area" radio button on the From screen, choose "clipboard" in the To screen, then click "standby"

4- Make sure the mouse cursor is not over the area you want to use, then press F6 on your keyboard, put your mouse at the upper left corner of the area you want, click but don't release, surround the area, release the mouse button, you'll hear a sound as if a photo was just taken

5- Go into the directory you want in Windows Explorer, create the jpg file, open it with Paint

6- Do a CTRL-V then save and close Paint

7- In the cPanel Legacy File Manager, go in the directory where you want to upload the file and follow the instructions to do so

8- Use the appropriate HTML code to add the image URL to your Testimonials page on your blog

The code I use is like this:

Of course, replace yourdomain.com and the directory name with the appropriate information.

There you go!

I did a video showing the whole process. To see the video, click on the "Learn more about Put Your Testimonials On Your Blog Review" under the Recommended Features section, you will then be able to subscribe to the APSense Insider newsletter.

Very creative Rev page Philippe. I don't use Wordpress. I could never figure it out. I bought a course and was still totally confused and frustrated...really shows how green I am. That is why I chose Blogspot because of its simplicity and totally free.

@Lynne - Blogger versus Wordpress, that is the same with a lot of people, Blogger ease of use versus Wordpress more involved. Although Wordpress is much better for the search engines etc.

There are people here on Apsense Talents that will (for a small fee - and I mean small) load your blog to Wordpress.

My understanding is that 'Thesis" version of Wordpress is very benenficial

Thanks for all the feedback, everyone, glad the info was useful :)

@lochan, some people choose to go with Blogger ( blogspot) at first, then they go with WordPress, it's so much more powerful and flexible. There are free resources you can use to learn WordPress. Send me a PM and I will tell you more.
