Cisco Certified Network Professional or CCNP is a professional level certification offered by Cisco Systems. A certified professional is regarded as an expert in planning, implementing, verifying and troubleshooting local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN). CISCO CCNP also certifies that the network engineer is proficient in working with voice, video, security and wireless solution specialists. In order to go for its training, it is mandatory to have either a valid and active CCNA or CCIE certification of any track.It is regarded as the most suitable one for those candidates who have at least a year of work experience in the networking industry and are looking for a career orientation which can boost their skill set and can offer better opportunities.
This exam, besides CCNP Voice and CCNP Security, is considered suitable for a profile of system or network engineer, network technician or support engineer as per network industry standards worldwide. The required set of exams to be cleared for Cisco Cisco Certified Network Professional certification are 642-902 ROUTE, 642-813 SWITCH and 642-832 TSHOOT and the recommended training as per Cisco standards are implementing Cisco IP routing for ROUTE, implementing// IP switched networks for SWITCH and troubleshooting and maintaining Cisco IP networks for TSHOOT. The CCNP certification remains active or valid for a period of 3 years and can be re-certified.
