Review on BLog Writing For Dummies

I run several businesses with some online marketing. I am well established in my field of Business/Legal Consulting, but I want to expand into new markets courtesy of political happenings in the UK. Blogging is one avenue I can use to expand my online presence and create a brand around my businesses. I have to admit I have been a bit reluctant to go down this road, as I don't know too much about it, nor where to start. That is why I obtained this book through the Vine programme.

As an absolute novice, this book appeared to be comprehensive in terms of topics covered. What you very quickly find is that this is also a disadvantage, in terms of depth. What this book is good for are brief descriptions of different areas. What is very bad at doing is detailed instructions on how to do it. So really this is a book that summarises, more than teaches its subject. Whilst I have gained ideas from this book, it is certainly not as good as other Dummies books I have used over the years, which are far more detailed.
