Review on Beyerdynamic dtx 50

While only having experienced cheaper IEMs and only having those cheaper IEMs to compare with, the DTX50 is very clear and rich sounding IEMs. One noticeable difference is that the opening where the silicone head goes is bigger than those of say the popular Sony MDR series headphones and the V-moda headphones. This would mean that these IEMs would not be recommended for those who have smaller ears. My GF tried them on, and was unable to keep them in her ear long because it was hurting her, even with the smallest ear pads.

With that said, proper fitment is crucial for good isolation and sound. When properly fit, the lows are strong, not over powering, and are crisp. The mids and highs are good, not great. The mids are not very clear, while the highs are clear, but not loud. Note that while testing these IEMs, I used an iAudio 7, with a flat EQ, BBE at one with MP3 enhance set to 1. The headphones sounded very good, but still lacked some definition in the mids and highs.
