Your Online Image
Building an online presence is key to your online Marketing goals, When you're building an online presence you have to take several different approaches and you have to take into account that just because you may have a solid offline reputation that it has nothing to do with your online reputation.
When you come online and are new to Social Media and online Marketing you're a newbie just like any other new person.
Building an online reputation shouldn't intimidate anyone because its something you build as you go. Its all about the comments you make and the conversations you decide to join.
You'll want to get involved in the things that will improve your reputation. Be very careful to know the difference in getting into a heated debate and getting involved in a full blown flame war
. A heated debate can be adult and sensible or just considered a difference of opinion but a flame war is never forgotten and can damage your image forever. Remember, Once caught always suspect.
I'll be writing more on this subject in other posts so stay tuned.

Just plain honesty
Hi, Paul, there is no excuse for out and out warfare with the written word. It is unfortunate that there are many people who have such a restricted facility with their own language that they sound aggressive even though they are not. Very good points Paul. As you've stated, there's nothing wrong with having heated debates which, if handled tactfully, can serve a greater good e.g such as raising alarm bells and making people be aware of a "dishonest" program and thus saving them from being conned. Full blown flame wars are another thing all together. Personally I avoid them and the people who have a propensity of engaging in them as much as possible. They are too much negative energy.

Hi Paul,
You bring up some good points here as with flame wars. It is never a good idea to get involved in such nonsense. Sometimes it's just best to walk away no matter how angry others can make you feel. I agree that it can hurt you in the long run. On the other hand heated debates can be very positive where as they serve a greater good and resolve problems that otherwise go unresolved. It's ok to disagree, just be tactful and present your point without prejudice! Very nice and informative
