Your charisma will make you shine

by Anoop D. Talentrack
We get mesmerized seeing a model walking on a ramp, but it’s not only the glitz and glamour that we see and think about a model’s life, there’s a lot of hard work, dedication and years of struggle behind that glamorous ramp walk. With the exposure of glam world, every other girl aspires to be a model and to live her dream life, but there are only a few who make their way in this world and lead that luxurious lifestyle.

If you have a charming personality to woo anyone and confidence to carry yourself well then modelling is your thing. The very first question that arises while choosing modelling as a career is whether I can be a model or not? It is obvious because we all have heard that for modelling, you need to have a perfect body and beautiful face, but there is so much more to modelling.

Yes, it is true that you need that slender and perfect body only if you are going for high fashion modelling. High fashion models are for the designers who want only a specific type of models to showcase their designs in the best way possible.

However, there are so many options in modelling which you can choose. If you don’t have a perfect figure for high fashion modelling, then go for commercial, catalogue, editorial or print modelling.

As Karl Lagerfeld has said, “The secret to modelling is not being perfect. What one needs is a face that people can identify in a second”. So, there are many types of modelling jobs where even if you don’t have that extra perfect body, but have the confidence and face full of expressions then you can give your best try.

To try out for different modelling jobs you should be ready with your portfolio containing some of your best photographs. As portfolio plays an important role in your modelling career, so before making a choice, you should be knowing what type of modelling you can do. Also, invest more in your portfolio as it will represent you and will help in getting the best modelling jobs.

After getting your portfolio done, the next thing you should be knowing is your ‘market’. The term ‘market’ in modelling refers to the location where models work and earn. So, if you belong from that ‘market’ area where you can easily approach different casting agencies then it is perfect, but if you are located outside the ‘market’ area, then it may cost you a bit more because it will take more efforts and money to send your portfolios to the modelling agencies personally. Though you can share your portfolio through mails as well, but sending them personally can help in grabbing the best offer.

On the other hand, if you are located in the ‘market’ of this glam world then you can personally go to different agencies and handover your portfolios to them. Also, there are so many agencies working in specific areas, so you have to find out other agencies as well which deal in all types of modelling jobs. If you cannot find the best modelling agency or the perfect job for you then you can hire your ‘mother agency’ or ‘mother agent’ to help you get started in your modelling career.

Hiring an agency to get the best modelling jobs can be a tough task as it may take a while for others to acknowledge your true potential. So, in the meantime, you can explore new options and instead of waiting for a full time assignment, you can do some freelancing jobs in modelling. This will give you more exposure and add more value to your portfolio.

There are so many modelling scouts to help models in getting the best modelling jobs, but you need to be careful while choosing one for your career. Talking about online agencies, talentrack is the platform where you can find numerous modelling jobs. On this platform, models can register their portfolios and they will be contacted by the casting agencies.

Many people just give up after trying a few times, but one needs to understand that taking up modelling jobs can be a long and stressful process, so one has to be persistent during their struggle period. Determination, devotion, hard work and patience are the basic rudiments to have a successful modelling career. Even if you don’t get a chance in your first attempt don’t lose hope as you never know what tomorrow may bring.
