Women oriented trainings of the local chamber of commerce a boon for women entrepreneurs

by Angelo Diolata Greater Monmouth Chamber of Commerce

Women entrepreneurs have much greater scales to climb up owing to the enhanced difficulties in their cases. The clients tend to have less belief in them, and they can get the necessary support through the local chamber of commerce.

The governments have been pushing for the development of business startups in various fields over the last decade. Besides boosting the GDP, the startups also help in generating employments. One aspect in this overhaul has been to also include women in the startups. This has majorly been boosted by the ever increasing number of successful women business entrepreneurs and managers all over the world. Also, it was a matter of fact that globally, women have been suppressed in the societies when it came to do good things and especially business.

In today’s changing scenario, there has been much attempt to boost women in business chamber of commerce. The local chambers of commerce have taken up the process to inspire more and more of women into business by organizing various events that are meant for helping them. Like others, they also need a helping hand in their startups. Women have more of hurdles to overcome and share than their male counterparts. These include many a thing like social inhibitions, managerial capabilities and entrepreneurial skills.

The chambers of commerce organize regular workshops that are aimed at training up the entrepreneurial skills among women. At these sessions that are held regularly, most of the speakers include successful women business managers. They share their part of the stories in an informal mode, going into an interactive pattern in a while, and ending in a semiformal atmosphere. This helps people to come up with hurdles that they face only because they are women, and which they may not be able to share with men.

For example, a woman entrepreneur faces a larger difficulty in convincing clients as a startup, since the customers often are too close-minded to lay their faith on such organizations. This is something that men face to a lesser extent, and only a successful women entrepreneur can share the trick to overcome it.

The chambers of commerce are also offering women oriented benefits to allure more of them. For memberships of women in business chamber of commerce, the fees are highly reduced. The participation fees for different workshops are also much less, keeping in mind basically the fact that it is difficult for a woman-run startup to start doing good business in a short span of time.

Among the other sops for women, there are reduced advertisement fees for women business entrepreneurs. The chambers of commerce come up with quarterly, half-yearly and annual business directories that reach out to different business houses of relevance. The return of investment of these advertisements is very high, and benefits the women-run entrepreneurship in gaining substantial mileage over a short period of time.

The directories also give ample opportunities to women investors to write up promotional articles in these directories. These articles also cost minimal and often are free! They provide a great opportunity to showcase the abilities and domain of expertise of a startup and get noticed by those who matter in business. It is thus a must for a woman entrepreneur to be part of the local chamber of commerce.
