Wireless broadband is one kind of telecommunication technology. This technology provides high-speed wireless internet access over a wide area. It includes both mobile and computer network.

Meaning of Broadband:-

Nowadays broadband is a marketing term for any kind of high-speed internet access technology of telecommunication. But originally broadband had a technical meaning, which defines having continuous bandwidths greater than 1MHZ along with a minimum upload and download speed of 1.5 MBIT/sec, as per the 802.16-2004 standards.

The technology of wireless broadband:-

Wireless broadband can provide data almost equivalent to some wired networks like ASDL or Cable modem, Wireless network also provides same data rate in both downstream and upstream, which normally provided by the fixed wireless network.

From the base tower, a broadband wireless access covers 50 KM. Also, it has the ability to provide a download speed of more than 100MBIT/sec. A wireless broadband mostly uses the technology of LMDS, MMDS, and ISM bands.

Residential wireless network:-

This is the main type of fixed wireless network where some equipment is provided to the customer by the internet service provider. They also install an antenna somewhere in the house. These equipment are mainly serviced and maintained by the service provider themselves. It is very popular in rural areas.

Mobile broadband:-

It is a service from the Mobile network service providers like Airtel, Vodafone, and Jio etc. consumers can choose the required plan from the huge number of plans, offered by their service providers. And from almost everywhere one can easily connect their mobile, PC or Laptop with this network via cell phone towers. This type of connection costs more due to portability and the speed varies depending on the cell phone network strength of that place.

There are a lot of Network service providers who provide unlimited home wi-fi plans. If someone wants to take an unlimited broadband connection then there are a lot to choose from. One can easily access the internet by choosing own service provider. By paying 1000 Rs. a month one can easily enjoy the unlimited high-speed broadband connection. Airtel, BSNL, Citi cable, Hathway, Spectra, MTNL is some of the service providers who offer an unlimited broadband plan with high-speed data for a month within 1000 Rs.

There are different network service providers in India. Some well-known companies are BSNL, MTNL, AIRTEL, CITI CABLE, HATHWAY, Reliance.

As per end users’ point of view, BSNL is the most reliable and cheap Network connection where they provide Cabled Network connection and also WIFI modems.

AIRTEL Also has a reliable high-speed network but they are not so good in the cabled network as they are in Wi-Fi network.

Reliance is also having a great bandwidth but there is a problem with their network as it fluctuates at a high rate.

You broadband, a subsidiary of Vodafone Ltd. does offer some great connections with a better bandwidth.

The other network service providers are also having good bandwidth and they can provide a high rate of data at a cheaper price.

Day by day the population of tech-savvy people is increasing and as a result of the use of broadband also rises. So for surviving in this competitive market every company have their own plan for attracting more consumer. And people want the fastest network and portability. So we can say that Wireless broadband is the future of the high-speed internet.
