Will star cast alone give success?
Will star cast alone give success?
Story plays key role in the success of any film. However of late many film makers are trying to make some gimmicks including star studded cast to score hits. An aspiring director joked that if all characters appear in a relavant manner then it is story and if it do not confusing people then it is Telugu film on silver screen.
Sometime back there used to be a reason for a song between hero and heroine. Now film makers changed them to group songs. Even though group songs used to be there earlier, they used to be only situational.
In the 90s all songs turned into group songs and now film makers started including group scenes in the garb of family entertainers. So many characters appear and disappear irrespective of their relavance. Movie lovers also taught them strong lesson giving shocks that if film makers just pass time increasing reels without story then they will not tolerate.
Film makers are under the impression that if they include as many stars as possible then movie lovers will throng theatres and turn the film into a hit. Film makers love to see many stars on silver screen. Maniratnam used to lead the pack with Krishna Vamsi following him. For long many remarked that for film with Krishna Vamsi, producer should forget about the budget.
Tollywood films underwent lot of changes like short dialogues, breathtaking fights and serial comedy with villains. Now Tollywood is witnessing huge starcast in the so called family entertainers. However such films are not having strong story and they started showing stars to the buyers. This is the case with ‘Brahmotsavam’.
Even earlier in films like ‘Devudu Chesina Manushulu’, star cast is huge but at the same time it got strong story which made the film a super hit. Now film makers are concentrating on technology without showing interest on story just like Srinu Vytla is doing. Film makers are not thinking whether the scene is necessary or not and movie lovers with just colorful starcast and no story is avoiding such films.
