by Sarah B. Marketing Writer | Thinker | Environmentalist

Wood look tiles are a popular building construction material, that is used to create gorgeous-looking floors and walls in residential and commercial real estate. They are a cost-effective replacement for authentic wood tiles.

One of the reasons why homeowners and interior designers use them is their easy and effortless maintenance. But, why are these tiles easy to maintain? We explain this point-wise under the following subsections of the article –

Ceramic/Porcelain -

Technically, wood-look tiles are ceramic or porcelain material. There is a slight difference between these two materials, but both are known for being easy maintainable. You do not require to follow a special approach to clean them.

Non-Porous –

Unlike wood tiles, wood-look tiles do not absorb any fluid. They do not catch stains pretty easily. It is because, there are no pores on their surface.

On a porous surface, water and other fluids dry up quickly. And when the water dries, it leaves spots and stains. With wood look tiles, there are no such possibilities.

When there are fewer chances of staining, you do not require any special training for cleaning and maintaining your wood look tiles.

Smooth Surface –

The surface of wood look tiles is smooth. This finishes is applied to the tile during the manufacturing process with an aim to protect it from wear and tear, and to give it a smooth, shiny (or matte, or glossy) texture finish.

There is another purpose of this additional finish. It helps create smooth floor and wall surfaces. And because of that, it becomes easier to clean and remove dust and debris off the tiled layout.

In addition to that, wiping and cleaning the floor is also a simple job. You do not have to call on a commercial cleaning service to get the job done.

You also do not need to be specific about your cleaning solution choice. You can use soap or detergent  based water solution to clean your wood look tiles.
