A staffing agency supplies your workforce with workers who fill a variety of roles. These companies, also referred to as employment agencies or temporary agencies, specialize in the human resources process. They can quickly screen and interview candidates for employment, which is beneficial to companies who need staff but may not have the time or personnel to devote to hiring.

 

 Some business owners may think of staffing agencies as companies that hire only temporary workers. While it is true that temp agencies often specialize in non-permanent employment, they do much more. Companies of any shape, size or type can benefit from the services provided by staffing agencies. They can even save money by avoiding some of the hardships that accompany human resources.

 

Staffing agencies can customize the hiring process

 The typical process for a staffing agency is to accept applications from prospective employees throughout the year. Those employees get an interview so that the hiring specialist can have a good idea about their skills and interests. That applicant then goes into the pool of possible employees. Job openings get filled from that pool.

 

 Though that is standard, some staffing companies can provide a customized experience. They can place an ad for you detailing specific requirements if your job has particular needs. They can allow you to look over possible job candidates if you wish. They can even cover the payroll and all legal forms of employment while you manage the interviewing and hiring process yourself.

 

You can avoid human resources hassles

 A temporary employee hired through an employment agency does not work for your company. The temp agency pays that employee. All related payroll issues, including deductions, garnishments, taxation and others, are managed by the temp agency as well. You do not have to worry about unemployment hearings or workers' compensation. All of which is covered by the fee you pay to the staffing company.

 

 Pre-employment screenings are no longer your problem either. You can ask the employment agency to run criminal background checks, personal background checks and even drug screenings. You can also ask for random drug screenings, which are likewise handled by the temp agency.

 

 The difficulties of furloughs and lay-offs are no longer part of your problem when you use a staffing company. As the temporary worker is not your employee, it is the job of the temp agency staff, not your human resources department, to manage all employee exits.

 

Staffing agencies work with businesses of any size

 Do you have a small shop with only a couple of employees? You may not have the time or budget to have a permanent human resources office. Employment agencies remove this burden. Do you manage a massive industry that has regular turnover? Staffing agencies can ensure that you always have full staff without forcing you to be in the business of hiring continually.

 

 Staffing agencies don't work with just one type of industry, either. Whether you need maid service for a hotel, assembly-line workers for a manufacturer, chemists for a pharmaceutical company or any number of other types of fields, you can use a staffing agency. The only requirement is that you have a role that needs fulfillment. Let a staffing company help you lift the burden of hiring from your shoulders.
