Not many realize this, but traveling around the world when you’re Jewish can be difficult at times, most especially if you’re going to countries with little to no Jewish communities. Unless there’s a Chabad house where you’re headed, you’ll have a hard time finding kosher food. 

Luckily, many Jewish travel companies have sprung up over the years to help us Jews with this. But what exactly can we benefit from traveling with a kosher touring service?

But of course, this is one of the biggest reasons why Jewish cruises and tours exist. They make sure that we get to eat true kosher meals. 

In most cruise lines, for instance, Jewish passengers have to inform them before the cruise that they need kosher food. While they are willing to cater to your needs, you’ll most likely be eating food that’s been prepared in advance. Yes, that means your meals won’t be fresh.  

And then there are some cruises that say they can cook kosher food to order. However, they can be difficult to trust at times. Since they don’t primarily cater to Jewish passengers, chances are they won’t be completely following the right way of preparing kosher food.

Land tours are often a bit trickier if there are no Jewish restaurants in the vicinity, but your tour companies should be able to make sure that your kosher food needs are met.  

Since Jewish tour services are particularly meant for Jewish travellers, plenty of their destinations will include places that hold significance to them. 

You will visit synagogues, ghettos, and museums. You will also be able to spend time with members of the local Jewish community. This lets you learn more about the countries you travel to from a Jew’s point of view.  Of course, trips to non-Jewish tourist attractions will also be part of the itinerary.

Aside from that, they also make considerations during Shabbat or holidays and hold special rabbinical services. 

You also won’t have to worry if you’re going to need spiritual guidance away from home. Rabbis usually accompany you during your tours or cruises. Oftentimes they will even serve as your tour guides. They are always happy to provide their insights on the places you are traveling to.
