Why it’s important to use floor mats

by Merry Jose Online Electronics

Floor mats are very common in Indian households. They serve many functions, right from keeping your floors stain-free, to keeping your feet warm during winters and offering a comfortable surface to lie down on during summers. The place of a floor mat in your home becomes irreplaceable once you get accustomed to it.

For those on a crossroads about getting floor mats, this is why having a floor mat in your home matters…

For a squeaky clean floor:

The biggest role of a floor mat is to keep your floors grime and stain-free throughout the year. Especially for those with light-colored tiles, floor mats will act like entrance filters that will prevent any oil or dirt stains from spoiling the look of the tiles. We all know how in a home full of children or guests, avoiding stains on the floor can be difficult. With floor mats covering a large surface area, you can contribute to keeping your home clean while also adding to the decor.

For an oops-free experience:

However careful you may be, you can never be too careful when it comes to wet floors and slippery soles. More than being dirt-resistant, floor mats also serve the purpose of protecting you from accidental falls by helping you maintain a better foot grip. Those living with elderly, children, and specially-abled know how susceptible they can be to accidental falls. Getting a floor mat in your home can also go a long way in ensuring the well-being of your loved ones.

For a lasting impression:

Apart from being functional as a stain-resistor and a safety net for accidents, floor mats also add to the overall look of the room by covering a large surface area. A plain floor can be transformed into an inviting one by the sole addition of a lively floor mat. In most Indian households where being barefoot inside the home is a norm, having a floor mat can help create a more relaxing experience for guests and family members alike.

For a cleaner sole:

Besides having clean floors, floor mats also work as stain-collectors for your feet and soles. After a long day outside or a trip to a nearby grocery store during monsoon, it’s common to return home with soiled soles. Even after taking off footwear, we know that dirty toes and ankles can only be rid of during a thorough foot wash. Having a floor mat placed in the space between the entrance and the bathroom can work as a double-cleanser.
