The fight for equality is not new. It is a fight that has been going on for centuries. The struggle that started with the aim to achieve an equal amount of food has developed into something bigger, but the inherent logic has remained the same. One’s right over food or land or any other materialistic item used to depend only on physical strength. With time, the structure got refined a bit, but certain aspects remained the same. The attempts to achieve gender equality between man and woman is a way of bridging that gap.

Where things changed and where they remained the same?

Since women first joined the workforce in the world outside their homes, various things have changed, but one fact that has remained constant is inequality. In an office, the management discriminates amongst employees, solely based on their gender. A woman has to work harder and for longer to enjoy the benefits her male colleagues can have with a lot less effort. A woman gets paid less than her male colleague in the same position. This practice has been going on for decades, though, now various industries are attempting to reduce the gap.

Inability to solve a situation in a mature manner

It is quite sad that on the verge of completing the first decade of a new century, the human race is still incapable of handling certain issues that should have been non-existent by now. One of the most prominent and relevant issues is the gender equality question between man and woman. Despite being part of the same species, it seems there is an unbridgeable chasm between these two sections. Changes have come to various areas, but still, there is a reluctance in accepting women as equal to men.

Importance of the current time

Over the years, the issue has gained traction and prominence, but it seems that the present time is throwing another layer and light on the subject. Society is evolving, along with the human race. So, what used to be considered normal a few decades back, is not considered norm anymore. Gender equality is quite beneficial for this evolution as it provides humanity with a better chance of survival.

Clarifying some basic logic and their implementation

Yes, the world and environment have evolved a lot from millions of years ago. One does not need to worry about predators anymore. Hence, the concept of survival may seem a little out of place. If instead of keeping just the present technological and other advancements in mind, one is to consider the nature of evolution, the previous statement will make more sense. Despite every shiny and new element introduced by humankind, the primary struggle has remained the same, survival.

Why working together will prove to be more beneficial?

In this sophisticated environment, though, survival will depend more on intellectual prowess than a physical one. Only one section of the species participating in the process won’t be fair, but everyone will have to pay the price of such egotistical thoughts and behavior. With gender equality, both men and women will be taking part in the fight for survival which will increase the chances of the human species considerably. This is why; the subject is becoming so vital for today’s world.
