Why Do I Need Pourer Caps?

by Ella Wilson Love to write
Pourer caps don’t seem to matter when you look at the grand scheme of things. But if you run a bar, then you’ll know how pourer caps matter. By putting this much attention to the little details, you’ll run your bar with greater ease and success. Here’s why having pourer caps make a difference.

What are pourer caps?

These are caps that you slip on to the pour spout. It’s also used for a fast flow pourer. The spouts can come in either stainless steel or brass and chrome. The function of the caps is to secure the bottles close.

Why do you need those caps?

If you have no pourer caps, then that leaves the bottles open to fruit flies. You might end up with an unwanted visitor swimming in your booze and that’s not exactly pleasant nor hygienic. Since fruit flies actively seek out alcohol, putting on those caps keep them out of your alcohol. Also, some types of caps are designed to stop evaporation. That makes them very ideal for the hot summer months since they keep your booze from evaporating. Think of all the alcohol you save.

Why should you choose caps?

You can actually use cling film to secure the bottles. However, caps provide a long-term and cost-effective option. that’s because they stand the test of time much better than cling film. Also, there’s the added benefit that the caps look professional instead of tacky which is what cling filmed speed pourers look like.

How much are they?

The caps are incredibly cheap and given what they do—they keep the alcohol from evaporating, and they keep fruit flies out of your booze, then they’re an excellent buy. Incredibly low-cost for the outcome they help you achieve. You’ll want to start shopping and ordering caps for your pour spouts.

Which ones should you choose?

There are plenty of designs out there, so study your options carefully. Consider the pros and cons of each one. Which caps are ideal for your needs? Which ones are easy to take off and which ones are a pain to remove? If you have slippery hands, then you’ll need to consider caps that are much easier to use and remove.

Should I clean the caps?

Yes, you should. It’s important to make sure that the caps last you a long time. But that means you’ll need to check regularly if they become sticky inside. If they’re sticky, then that presents a complication: since that means you won’t be able to take off the caps with ease. That’s not ideal. Clean the caps by pouring them in a bucket of warm water—don’t use hot water since that will warp the products.

Where should I shop?

Look for a reputable online vendor. Check out the home bar supplies it offers. Be sure to go over the basics, too. How long will the delivery take? What are the buying terms and conditions? What does the Return Policy say? You’ll want to buy from a vendor that makes returns an easy and painless process. Customer service quality is also a factor.
