Stainless Steel as in its present form was first invented in 1912, playing a major role across a host of different industries, namely the manufacturing and production industries. Particularly, when it comes to the various applications of pipe fittings, stainless steel has emerged as the most favourable material to use, in regards to quality, strength, durability, and cost.

Stainless Steel refers to a broad family of iron-based alloys containing a minimum of 10.5% chromium, which is mainly responsible for giving the material its “stainless” quality. ·         Impact resistance: As mentioned earlier, stainless steel is highly strong and durable. Certain stainless steel grades which are used for piping components provide a higher degree of toughness, both in freezing cold as well as applications involving extremely high temperatures.

·         Ease of fabrication: Apart from the above-mentioned qualities, pipe fittings require provisions for a significant amount of fabrication. This requires the material chosen to be durable as well as flexible enough to withstand modern cutting tools and procedures.
