Why choose offset printing supplies over digital printing – its advantages!
by Dominick Raucci Business HeadPrinting is one of the most important
industries that have been into use for a very long time, since the very early
discovery of the printing machine. However, over all these eras, the concept of
printing has evolved to a great extent and so has its kind. Whereas digital
printing had a glorious past, it has now shifted to the popular use of offset
printing. And hence, the demand of offset printing supplies has increased to a
great extent.
But, although many people have heard
about offset printing, they do not know its basics and how it is different from
the digital printing. But, if you are looking for printing options, you must
know which option to choose, whether digital printing or offset printing. While
this printing option has been there in use for more than a decade or so, with
the digital prints coming into market, people are getting confused.
What is
offset used for?
This is a type of print that is
commonly used for various commercial options for prints. These include anything
within the range of newspapers, booklets, magazines,
postcards, advertisements and brochures and many others. Using graphic chemical and ink, this type of
printing is done. In all the commercial sectors where bulk prints are needed,
this is the type that would work for you.
Difference
between offset and digital:
For the masses, printing is simply
printing! But it is not as similar as it might seem and offset and digital are
two entirely different types of printing procedures. Both follow entirely
different printing techniques and strategies and hence, they also render too
entirely different look. Whereas, digital printing does not uses any plates to
transfer the prints and does the job using a toner, its use are restricted to
limited use.
The offset printing on the other hand
uses graphic chemical and ink to
transfer the images and texts to be printed, on a rubber roller or blanket and
this in turn, prints it on the paper or whatever printing media required. It
requires the setting up of the printing plates for every new set of job. The
print gets rolled from the plates, on to the rubber rollers and then gets
printed. No matter what type of print media you are looking for, you can have
it printed through this medium as there are is wide range of materials and
accessories available for doing this task.
Advantages
of offset printing:
Throughout decades, this is what
people have been accustomed to. And with new technologies and quality offset
printing supplies coming to existence every day, this is extremely beneficial.
- Its cost reduces
along with the number of prints
- It is useful for
large quantities of prints, unlike the digital prints, which has a very
restricted use
Besides this, this mode can be used
on a variety of paper types, using various kinds of Pantone and metallic
colours.
