With a wide range of air conditioner brands and types available in the market today, people have an impressive lineup of air conditioners to choose from. Whether you have a big room or a smaller one, today’s air conditioners come in varying sizes which means you can pick the one matching best to your needs. One question that hits a majority of people is whether they should choose an inverter AC or a non-inverter one. We will try to find the answer of this question in the further part of this article.

What does an inverter air conditioner mean?

An inverter air conditioner is an air based on the inverter compressor technology. An inverter compressor is able to run at varying speeds contrary to a fixed speed compressor installed in a non-inverter AC. This technology results in more energy savings, better cooling performance, lesser maintenance, and most importantly longer working life of the air conditioner. However, it is important to note that inverter technology is currently available in split ACs only.

An inverter compressor adjusts its speed considering the required cooling needs in a room. This is totally opposite to a fixed-speed compressor which works in two modes only – on an off. When the temperature of the room goes above the set temperature, the compressor starts and when it reaches the thermostat level, the compressor stops. This concurrent on and off process of the compressor results in heavy energy consumption along with decreased working life of the compressor.

What is a non-inverter AC?

A non-inverter AC is an air conditioning system that comes with a fixed-speed compressor. Though they are quite affordable, they tend to have lower energy ratings as compared to inverter air conditioners. Unlike an inverter air conditioner, this kind of aircon unit works on the "all or nothing" principle. Due to this, the compressor cycles on and off on its own rather than working continuously on a uniform speed.

For example, you set the thermostat level of the air conditioner at 26 degrees. When the temperature in the room hits this level, the compressor will automatically shut off. Eventually, the temperature in the room will rise, causing the motor to restart in order to achieve the set temperature. The cycle repeats again and again.

Inverter AC vs. Non-inverter AC.

If you are confused between choosing a 2 ton inverter AC or a non-inverter split AC, the best way to end up this confusion is to do a comparison of both types of air conditioners.

Below, we have highlighted some major pointers that can help you decide the right type of AC for your home.

Inverter ACs are silent

Yes, due to variable speed motor, inverter ACs tend to be salient than non-inverter ACs. Their motor adjusts its speed given the cooling requirements in the room which averts the continuous on and off of the motor resulting in lesser noise and better sleep.

Inverter ACs are expensive

You may need to pay higher 2 Ton Energy Saving Split AC Price as compared to a non-inverter AC. But, you can say yes to bigger savings down the line with an inverter AC.

Inverter ACs are good for climate

The latest range of inverter ACs are based on environment friendly R32 refrigerant gas which delivers both awesome cooling and lesser harmful emissions.

The Conclusion

From the aforementioned pointers, it can easily be determined that inverter ACs are superior than non-inverter units despite their high price. This is because of the numerous features offered by inverter ACs that give them an edge.
