Ever since the beginning, WhatsApp had been immensely popular for its user interface usability, compatibility with a wider range of phones and lower subscription cost. Later on, after Facebook acquired WhatsApp the subscription fee was gone and also a lot of newer features have been implemented. Alternatives for WhatsApp are quite high, yet more people tend to settle for WhatsApp because it generalizes instant messaging experience regardless of what platform one has been using. Also, there are two new WhatsApp platforms – one web based and another desktop based to allow its users to remain connected from wherever they are. There’s one prime requirement though – the phone must be connected to the internet all the time for active sync of messages among different platforms. How to Install WhatsApp using its APK

  2. Look for WhatsApp using the search bar on top right corner of the web interface.

  3. On the results page, the first result should be the actual WhatsApp installation APK. The package size should be around 31.5 MB. 

  4. Click on the red ‘Download’ button, and download should begin shortly. The file should be saved to your web browser’s default download directory. 

  5. Copy the downloaded APK file to your smartphone using data transfer cable. Using Google Drive or sending the APK file to your own email address are some other ways of transferring APK files from PC to an Android device.

  6. Using your smartphone, find the APK file you have just transferred or downloaded. Tap on the APK file, make sure you have ‘Unknown Sources’ checked in your phone’s Security settings so that apps can install even without Google Play Store.

  7. WhatsApp should be installed on your smartphone shortly.

  8. Done!
