What's The Most Popular Class and Race in Guild Wars 2

There are many amazing class in GW2, so what's the most popular Class and Races in Guild Wars 2? What class most played by players? Ele's and warriors were defiantly the most played classes. It could have something to do with the burst. thieves were really popular before the most recent changes. I generally play PvE, with occasional sPvP. There was overwhelming number of Elementalists. More than any other profession. After them, there was a lot of Guardians and Rangers, with decent number of Thieves and Warriors and Necromancers. I have seen only few Mesmers and Engineers. In sPvP, almost every 3rd person was Warrior.

As for races, we can't judge their popularity properly, as they were divided in starting areas and many people wanted to try newly unlocked Asuras and Sylvaris. Although I have a feeling that majority of players were humans.

It's hard to tell with a BWE. There were a lot of Engineer/Guardian/Warrior/Thief changes so more people were trying them out. That doesn't necessarily mean any of these people are rolling them for launch. Also, Guild Wars 2 gold Sylvari and Asura were new races / new zones so their numbers were inflated (and since a majority were trying out the new races, there was a significant decline in people playing Charr/Norn/Humans).

If I were to guess though (after launch), I would say the most "common" classes will be stereotypical Warrior, Elementalist and Ranger. As for races, I'd guess Sylvari (the "Elves" of GW2) and Human as the most popular, with Asura possibly being up there. I don't see Norn and Charr being very popular in comparison.

Least Popular class?

Mesmer is arguably one of the more popular classes. In most polls the least popular class is the engineer. In fact, it's being redesigned so expect changes there. There have been several changes to the mesmer between this BWE and the last one...it feels a bit sturdier now, but make no mistake, mesmer is a GW original and a very popular class, just because it's pretty much unique to Tyria.
