The most familiar name for the treatment of infertility is IVF treatment. No long before, IVF treatment in India was more commonly known as test-tube baby process. When it was new and still many advancements were to be made, it was a very time consuming process, but now a days it has become a very fast and effective treatment for many fertility related problems. Unlike artificial insemination, in which the sperms are placed in uterus, in IVF treatment the eggs and sperms are combined outside the body in laboratory to form the embryo. The common procedures that take place during IVF treatment are suppression of menstrual cycle, boosting egg supply, monitoring and collecting eggs, fertilizing the eggs and transferring the embryos. IVF can treat many fertility issues such as endometriosis, low sperm counts, problems with the uterus, ovulation and so on.
In fertility treatments, age matters to a great extent. The decline in pregnancy begins at the age of around 30 and increases with the age. The success rate differs for different couples, several treatment cycles may be needed depending on the physical environment for pregnancy. There are multi-speciality hospitals for infertility treatment in Delhi, Mumbai and other metro cities.
