What Type of Music Do Casinos Play?

by Brian Wallace Affiliate Marketing

Casinos are gambling establishments that cater to the larger community who love playing gambling games. As a way of maintaining an ambience within casinos, music is used to keep the morale and the energy of the players peaceful and united. In terms of genre, casinos will play all sorts of music, mixing up their playlists depending on the time of day and week. Casino music has been known to help spur on players and affect their behaviour positively, when it comes to encouraging players to gamble. That is after all, the ultimate goal of any casino really, isn’t it?

Music like zoot-horn-rollo.jp has proven hugely successful when boosting the players confidence on online casino gaming, while it is certainly different to live real time casino gambling, not many casinos online have been able to boost their player communities mood with the playlists they play-so this is a first! The question is, what music playlists do land based casinos play, and does it help attract players in?

Weekdays are different to the weekends

It is quite the norm within most hospitality venues, to tend to gain the most attraction over the weekend, when most administrative roles etc. are on their weekend break. For most casinos, their busiest times tend to be around the weekend period, and therefore, the music played will differ and orientate around that specifically. With the peak times being at the end of the week, it would make sense that music would need to be more upbeat and energetic, to ensure that players are entertained and focused, despite the busy rushes of people.

Usually, music during the weekends will be mainstream music, that caters to hip-hop chart music and so on; especially as you move in closer to later periods of the evening. Casinos like to adopt that nightclub chic, without the rave and dancing. On the other hand, you may find that during the weekend, the same casino would tell a different story entirely. That is pretty normal. Often older retired gamblers will come in during the weekdays. When that is the case, playlists are calm and mellow, often relaxing, to match the energy of the people within the casino. Classical music and jazz are great options and are favourites of casinos.

Research from university studies have shown that softer music and lighting can actually manipulate people's emotions and make them more susceptible to making decisions driven out of emotions. Within casinos, the ultimate goal is for punters to spend more after all, and therefore you can understand why this type of style and atmosphere would be the go-to choice. It is not just casinos however that adopt these principles, fast food chains and franchises will use similar tactics to make greater sales within seasons.

Casinos not only think about sales though, but their music choices will also set the ultimate mood and comfort for their customers, which is of course important to them. So playlists revolve entirely around the time of day, week and even season of the year!

Back in The Good Ol’ Days

Back in the 60s, low tempo music was the go to. Concentration is key for players and therefore brick and mortar casinos had to assist in this, even if they aren’t so fond of helping customers take money off them.

Blues and jazz were popular in the most established Las Vegas casinos, as well as piano songs. It was seen as soothing and was what was preferred. I doubt you would have gotten many customers coming through the door if heavy metal was blasted through the speakers.

Online casinos differ from land casinos when it comes to music. As you navigate the menus of an online casino, there isn't normally any music being played at all. The music is introduced once you choose a game to play and the soundtrack will be based on that game. For example, if you were playing Halloween slots, you could expect creepy, spooky music to really get you into the feel of the slot game. For online casinos it is about creating the right mood for particular games. Christmas slot games would be playing joyful christmas songs, for obvious reasons. Not all the games online come with a soundtrack, some of the table games won’t have any sound at all, for some this is a preference, whereas others may find it boring.

Live Music in Casinos

On special nights, some casinos may have live music at their casino! Of course this wouldn’t be appreciated by those wanting to concentrate in silence, however those who turn up to the casino at night on a weekend, wanting to have a merry time, would enjoy some drinks whilst listening to a live band, then going off to place a few bets here and there. As we mentioned earlier, this would be something that has to be scheduled for the right night. It would not be something arranged for a weekday, more a weekend.
