What To See At Gabriel’s Wharf
London is not all about royal palaces and royal parks and gardens. There is a lot more to the city than this and if you care enough to explore you will be able to see a completely different London altogether. However, what do not change in any scene are the shopping locations of London. No matter which side of the capita you choose t check out, there is shopping in all of them. One of the best places to get some of quirkiest and best products is Gabriel's Wharf, located in Southbank of London. It is definitely the best if you go by what the tourists and the locals majorly have to say, but if that heightened your spirits to the level that you have been starting to expect it to be one of the heavenly shopping destinations in the city. I would ask you to get down to reality. It is no doubt one of the best places to find all sorts of art, crafts and a large number of fashion items. The variety of products available is simply so high that the place has become one of the bets haunts for the tourists who wish to get something different while on a trip to London and does not wish to blow their budget.
While Gabriel's Wharf definitely is one of the best shopping areas, the place is not something that will make it stand out from the rest. Located on the Southbank, it is pretty simple and some might even say a boring region, if it had not been for all the activities of the people visiting the place. There are all sorts of stalls and the only thing that stands out is the variety of colours. The place is a riot of colours, it seems as the front of the stalls have all sorts of designs and bright paints, such as bright pink and blue. Once you have actually checked out the colour of the stall the next thing that is bound to attract your attention is the names of the stalls. There is probably nothing quirkier than these names, which are something like, 'Nordic Nicnac', and 'The House of Eunice", and such others. One thing is certain; there is hardly any other place in London that has got a stranger collection of stalls. Inside these stalls you will get all types of fashion items and accessories. There are various products for women and for kids. Some of the dresses do not look like they are the latest addition in the fashion, but they are beautiful nonetheless.
As you get to the central area of the Wharf, you will notice there is a large square open space. This open space is for the people to sit and relax in between shopping. There are tables and tools. However, these are so made that it seems like they have been carved right out of a large block of wood. These seems so beautiful that you might actually be tempted to get them for your home garden, but sadly there is no one selling these and neither can you take them away.
The River Thames is a great addition to the entire scenery of the place. Many people love to check out the Thames and stand by its banks. You will even find many people making different types of sand castles. Do not get caught up by any particular sand artist, you will end up paying for just viewing the work. The place is quite beautiful and calm and peaceful. You will love to take a look at the river and enjoy the cool breeze blowing. The artist within you or the art lover that has been dormant for so long is definitely going to take a large sigh of being freed.
While you are at the Wharf, you would like to check out the low white building. It is actually a studio. The name of the studio is ITV Studios and you will find that the while building with large dark coloured windows is a massive hit among the tourists as well. This studio name will seem familiar if you are a regular viewer of "This Morning". However, the interior light being dimmed at all times you will hardly get a good look at the studio interior from outside. The only things that might even be visible on a completely outcast day or at the evening are some cameras and interior lights. Want to"videobomb" the show? You will have to jump a good 20 feet to do so.
Gabriel's Wharf is mentioned in almost every travel guide you will get about London. The place is a great spot to find some wonderful items and while you are on a shopping spree during your trip you would certainly love to visit this place. However, besides the stalls and the lovely surrounding, there is not much that will make this place stand out of the crowd. Yet, it is among the most visited areas in the capital.
Reaching Gabriel's Wharf should be no problem at all. You can take a walk to this place or take a tube to reach a location near the place and take a walk. There are buses available as well. You will simply have to get an accommodation that will provide you good access to the city transport. Even though it is true that almost entire of London is connected by crisscrossing routes of buses and railways, you will still have to look for the place which has one of the best concentration of both and will be best for your budget as well. Central London is always the perfect choice. There are numerous hotels available in this area and there is a major concentration of places to visit as well. This reduces the cost of travelling and you will be able to check out the attractions on foot. I loved Park Grand London Lancaster Gate Hotel during my stay in the city. Do check for their availability.
