  • Switch to Selective startup mode by following the below given steps:

  1. Press Windows and R key together to open the Run Window.
  2. Enter “msconfig” and press the Enter key.
  3. Go to General tab, choose Selective startup and Load system services.
  4. Select Services tab and then checkmark the highlighted Hide all Microsoft Services checkbox. 
  5. Click the Disable all button.
  6. Now, uncheck the Hide all Microsoft services checkbox. 
  7. Ensure that you have selected the Windows Installer checkbox from the list of services. 
  8. Click the OK button.
  9. Choose Restart in the System Configuration window. 

  • Now, you need to re-install the QuickBooks Desktop. For this, you first need to uninstall QuickBooks and then download and install it again. 
  • Switch back to Normal startup mode by following the steps below:

  1. Press Windows + R to launch the Run window.
  2. In the Run window, type “msconfig” and press the Enter key.
  3. Go to General tab and choose Normal startup.
  4. Click OK and in the end, click Restart on the System Configuration screen. 

Solution 2: Run the QuickBooks Install Diagnostic tool 

  • To run the QuickBooks Install tool you first need to download and install the tool hub. Follow the steps to download and install it:

  1. Download the advanced version of tool hub.
  2. Move to Download folder and double-click the downloaded setup file of tool hub.
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to install and agree to the terms and conditions.

  • From the tool hub, click Installation Issues.
  • Choose QuickBooks Install Diagnostic tool and let the tool run. 
  • Reboot the system.
