What is The Best Treatment and Solution to skin psoriasis arthritis?

Skin psoriatic arthritis is an underlying condition that still needs extensive analysis in terms of what therapy can make it relapsed.  Ayurveda has been the frontrunner with a very clean road to curing this ailment.  Psoriatic arthritis develops as a complication to Psoriasis.  It causes cells to build up rapidly on the surface of the skin, on elbows, knees, scalp, face, palms and feet.

Most medicinal sciences do not completely eradicate psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis because the treatment is external.  Ayurveda studies the internal factors that can be changed or replaced to give 100% results.  With the combination of modern science, it details the effect of autoimmunity, stress and climatic changes on Psoriasis.  We can deal with this factor once we identify the triggers that form psoriatic arthritis.  We have both internal and external applications to treat the cell malformation.

With the external treatment under uttana vatarakta, there are various forms of herbal applications that can help relieve the symptoms.  They could include some medicinal paste, herbal oil massage (Abhyanga), medicated milk and oil application, or Avagahana – dipping the afflicted parts or joints in the medicinal liquids.  Dressing in herbal concoction is also done that finds immense use in Psoriatic arthritis.  Skillful combination of these medicinal extracts can give instant relief to the patients.

In Ayurveda, Kushta and Vatarakta Chikitsa study joint disorder caused by pathological conditioning of Vatarakta (blood) and Kushta (skin disorders).  It advises ways to handle skin disorders are related to joint disorders in terms of formulations and treatment strategies.  Thus Psoriatic arthritis is treated on the lines of Kushta or Vatarakta or both according to its importance.

It is observed that disease forms when toxin building agents are promoted in our body.  Contradictory foods also leads to building of slow poisons in the body.  Eating pickle with milk, or fish with yogurt can be harmful and generate toxins.  Panchkarma therapy not only detoxifies the body but also helps reduce the pain and inflammation.  It identifies the three doshas or symptoms (Vata, Pitta and Kapha) and thus aids to expel the morbid vata, rakta and pitta from the corpus.   After the morbid doshas have been removed by the administration of above mentioned treatments and once the disease has been brought under control, Rasayanas (immune-modulators) should be administered on a regular basis to prevent recurrence of the disease.

A healthy lifestyle is what Ayurveda proposes like waking up early, avoiding daytime sleep and getting a simple protein rich food without overloading the stomach.  How we handle stress is another part that forms its core.  As the cleansing process of the human system is vital, i.e. the digestive system also needs correction since imperfection in the natural Vegas (waste disposal system) can build up slow poisons that will in turn affect our blood stream and create skin diseases.  This internal cleansing process is much more effective than suppressing the disease process.  Each patient has a different set of Ayurvedic treatments for psoriasis to cure the internal system but mere external application of creams will be a temporary measure.  Overweight people and alcoholics can be exposed to psoriasis easily.  After exiting of toxins from the blood in circulation, the body will start to show signs of cure.  Yoga is an essential stress buster and rejuvenator.  Medicinal value is worth in mild to moderate joint pain.  But severe cases may require another course of action.

In the allopathic arena too, there are various treatment options available today for relieving psoriatic arthritis but all are temporary and marked by harmful complications.  A combination of drugs like anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs) and exercise or potent medications such as methotrexate (Rheumatrex, Trexall), corticosteroids, and antimalarial medications may be used.  However, NSAIDs do have serious side effects like stomach upset and ulceration.  The drugs can also inflate gastrointestinal bleeding.  Patients who fail NSAIDs can get aggressive disease-modifying drugs to prevent progressive joint destruction and deformity but such medicines can risk in bone-marrow suppression and liver damage.  Antimalarial medication, such as Plaquenil is also used for persistent psoriatic arthritis but the drug may injure the retina.  Likewise Apremilast may cause depression, diarrhea and nausea.  Rather patients can go for direct sunlight exposure or direct ultraviolet light therapy.  Total hip joint replacement and total knee joint replacement surgery is the last choice for bone death of the hips and knees.

Thus, only Ayurveda is the answer to reliable medicinal outcomes where Panchakarma combo of Virechana and Basti can be a favored therapy to deal with psoriatic arthritis.  Unlike, allopathic treatment, Ayurvedic is 100% natural and safe, so going in with Ayurveda is a win-win situation.
